The AOV PT utilizes IMOU’s “Always-on Video” (AOV) technology, enabling the camera to record one frame every 2 seconds when no events occur, thus saving memory and energy.
However, when an event is detected, the camera immediately switches to full-frame recording, fulfilling both 24/7 surveillance and energy-saving requirements.
The AOV PT is designed for discreet operation. Its large 10,000 mAh battery, combined with a solar panel, enables the camera to self-charge and operate continuously – without interruptions or manual recharging*.
Beyond the AOV PT’s virtually endless operation, it also accounts for potential network connection loss. The camera supports both Wi-Fi and 4G* connectivity and automatically switches to the other if one connection drops, ensuring continuous connection.

*A 5 W solar panel can store 1300–1400 mAh of energy in the device with two hours of direct sunlight.
If the device records 100 event videos per day (50 during the day and 50 at night) and operates in AOV time-lapse mode for the rest of the time, approximately 1000 mAh of energy is consumed. Based on this, it can be concluded that using the solar panel allows for virtually unlimited operating time. However, actual battery life depends on the number of events recorded per day and the intensity of solar radiation.
*4G data usage depends on how much live footage you view daily and how often you play back AOV recordings or event videos.
If you view live footage 5 times a day and play back recordings 5 times, with each viewing lasting 1 minute, approximately 120 MB of data will be consumed in total.
