Lite Series – a Simple and Affordable Choice for Basic Needs

viSar Lite series cameras are designed for situations where reliable video and straightforward operation are the main requirements. These are the most affordable and simplest models in the viSar range, made from lighter materials, most often featuring a plastic housing.

The Lite series does not focus on advanced analytics, yet it still offers all the essential core features most commonly needed for everyday surveillance use. Supported features include, for example:

  • motion detection,
  • line crossing,
  • intrusion.

The cameras are weather-resistant and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. They are available with white or black housings, making it easier to match different façades and interior designs. Lite series cameras are offered with 4 MP resolution, providing clear and detailed images for everyday surveillance.

These cameras are well suited for sites where:

  • the main goal is live video monitoring rather than advanced analytics,
  • smart features are only required at a basic level,
  • the installation budget is limited ,
  • installation should be fast and easy.

Typical use cases include smaller commercial spaces, warehouses, garages, outbuildings, or other sites where a clear visual overview is important rather than detailed event analysis.

The Lite series is a good starting point for those who want to get started with the viSar system, or for users who value an affordable price and clear functionality without unnecessary extras.

Pro series – higher picture quality and smarter analytics

viSar Pro series cameras are intended for sites where higher image quality, more smart features, and greater flexibility in configuration are expected. This series is well suited for demanding private users as well as business use, where more is required from a camera than just video footage.

Pro series cameras offer higher resolutions ranging from 4 to 8 MP, allowing more detail to be captured and larger areas to be covered without compromising image quality.

On the analytics side, the range is significantly broader. Depending on the model, the following features are supported:

  • Smart Motion Detection,
  • Human / Vehicle Detection,
  • Regional Intrusion,
  • Object Abandon / Missing Object,
  • Abnormal video signal detection,
  • P2P-connection for easy remote access.

To enhance security, many models feature Smart Dual Light and active deterrence, where the camera uses red and blue flashing lights together with light or sound. Some models also include two-way audio, allowing users to both listen and speak through the camera.

Advanced analytics provide a clear advantage when it comes to reducing false alarms. Human and vehicle classification, more precise area rules, and intelligent motion analysis help prevent alerts triggered by wind, rain, shadows, or other irrelevant movement. The result is fewer unnecessary notifications and more meaningful alerts that actually require attention and action.

In terms of housing and construction, higher-quality materials are used, making these cameras better suited for long-term use in more demanding conditions. The cameras are available in black and white, and the range also includes models with zoom lenses, giving greater flexibility during installation in terms of field of view and level of detail.

Pro series is a good choice for the sites, where:

  • exact detection of events is required,
  • exact people/vehicle detection is required,
  • visual and sound alarm is required,
  • picture quality and settings flexibility is more important than minimum price.

This series is a perfect choice for shops, commercial buildings, apartment buildings, industrial sites, parking areas etc. In other words, it is perfect for sites, where camera isn’t just for surveliance, but also for advanced analytics.

AI Pro series – deep analytics and behaviour patterns analytics

viSar AI Pro series cameras are designed for demanding environments where video surveillance plays a role beyond security, supporting data collection, analysis, and decision-making. This series uses the combined operation of multiple artificial intelligence algorithms, integrating image recognition and video metadata into a single, unified system.

The AI Pro series is based on the combined operation of detection algorithms for people, vehicles, and other objects together with video metadata. This allows the camera not only to detect events, but to understand what is actually moving in the scene and who or what it is.

People and objects detailed detection

Cameras are able to detect and describe several object’s / subject’s features, like:

  • people’s sex and age,
  • direction of movement,
  • clothing type and up to 13 different colors.
  • face masks, glases, hats.
  • backpacks, and other belongings.

Detection and classification of vehicles

In the case of vehicles, the analytics is even more precise:

  • up to 128 differend car brands detection,
  • up to 12 000 different car models,
  • color of the vehicle (12 options),
  • type of the vehicle: passenger car, van, bus, etc.
  • Direction of movement and behavior within the area.

Using different analytics simultaneously.

The AI Pro series supports so-called multi-algorithm analytics, where multiple functions operate in parallel on the same image. For example:

  • line crossing,
  • area intrusion,
  • entering/exiting specific area,
  • loitering,
  • missing or left items,
  • illegal parking,
  • people/object’s counting,
  • heat map.

A heat map shows the concentration of people in specific areas and time periods. This is especially useful in retail stores and public spaces, where movement paths, points of interest, and visitor behavior can be analyzed.

Sound based analytics

In addition to video, audio is also monitored. The AI Pro series supports:

  • sudden sound level increase detection,
  • sudden sound level decrease or dissapear detection.

This makes it possible to detect situations that may not be immediately visually apparent, such as unexpected audio events.

AI Pro-series are perfect fore:

  • larger commercial sites,
  • shopping malls,
  • logistics and warehouses,
  • industrial sites,
  • public areas, where detailed monitoring is required.

This is a solution where the camera is no longer just a recording device, but an active analytical tool that helps better understand both security risks and human behavior.

Special seeries – special models for specific tasks

The viSar Special series brings together cameras designed for a specific purpose or use case. These are not general-purpose models, but solutions intended for situations where a standard surveillance camera is not sufficient or where a very specific viewing angle or function is required.

Fisheye

A fisheye camera provides a 360-degree field of view, allowing an entire room to be covered with a single camera. It is well suited for large indoor spaces such as offices, halls, or retail areas, where a complete overview is needed without installing multiple cameras.

Double-lens panoramic camera (180°)

Dual-lens models create a seamless 180-degree view without distortion at the edges of the image. This solution is well suited for building frontages, façades, above entrances, or locations where a wide area needs to be covered within a single frame.

Thermal camera

A thermal camera combines thermal imaging with a standard video image, making it possible to detect temperature differences even in complete darkness or challenging weather conditions. It is a strong choice for industrial sites, perimeters, and situations where a visual image alone does not provide enough information.

Car numberplate camera

License plate recognition cameras are designed for identifying and tracking vehicles. They are well suited for parking areas, entry points, and barrier systems where reliable information about vehicle movement is required.

Compact pinhole camera

Compact pinhole cameras are designed for discreet installation where the camera needs to remain as unobtrusive as possible. They are well suited for smaller spaces or locations where a visible camera is not desirable.

Special series cameras are typically selected based on a specific task and are often used together with Lite, Professional, or AI Pro series models to create a comprehensive and well-designed surveillance system.

How to choose a proper Visar camera for your needs?

The VISAR camera range is broad by design, not by chance. Each series is created for a different need and operating environment. The right solution depends primarily on what needs to be monitored, the required level of detail, and the conditions in which the system will operate.

If the goal is a stable video image with basic smart features, the Lite series is a suitable option. It is a sensible choice for lower-budget sites where the camera’s role is mainly observation rather than analysis.

When better image quality, more accurate detection, and fewer false alarms are required, the Professional series is worth considering. It fits well for commercial buildings, apartment complexes, parking areas, and sites where the camera needs to distinguish between people and vehicles and provide active deterrence.

When cameras are used not only for security but also for analysis and decision support, the AI Pro series is the right choice. It is intended for environments where understanding the behavior of people and vehicles, movement analysis, statistics, and detailed event filtering are important.

The Special series comes into play when there is a specific technical requirement: an extremely wide field of view, 360° coverage, thermal detection, license plate recognition, or very discreet installation. These cameras are often used together with other series to cover special use cases.

Once the appropriate series is selected, choosing specific models and product codes becomes much easier. The same logic applies in our online store, where products are organized by series, use case, and technical characteristics.

Typical mistakes and how to avoid them

Choosing a camera based on price alone
The most affordable model may seem tempting, but if the site requires more accurate detection or fewer false alarms, a basic camera will quickly fall short. Before deciding, it’s worth considering whether you only need video footage or more advanced analytics as well.

Analytics are insufficient or not used at all
It is common to install a camera that includes smart features, but leave them unconfigured. Properly selected and correctly configured analytics reduce false alarms and make the system much easier to use.

The field of view does not match the real situation
A field of view that is too narrow—or too wide—can leave important areas uncovered. In such cases, models with zoom lenses, panoramic cameras, or fisheye cameras should be considered.

Site-specific characteristics are ignored
Parking areas, retail stores, warehouses, and industrial sites all require different approaches. The same camera model is unlikely to suit every scenario. The best results are often achieved by combining multiple series.

Product codes cause confusion
Choosing based on model codes alone, without seeing the bigger picture, makes decision-making harder. When the series and use case are clear, the codes become logical and easier to understand.

These mistakes can be avoided by starting with a clear assessment of needs and reviewing cameras by series and use cases. The same approach makes selection easier in our online store, where models can be filtered and compared accordingly.

If the choice is still unclear or the site has specific requirements that are difficult to assess independently, our sales specialists are happy to help find the right solution. We provide guidance on camera selection, series combinations, and technical details so the solution truly fits real needs—not just the specification sheet.

If needed, we can also help select suitable models directly in our online store, making the purchasing process simple and reliable.

NVR-s – important part of any CCTV system

Alongside cameras, the recorder (NVR) plays an equally important role in building a surveillance system. An NVR is a device that receives video streams from cameras, stores them on a hard drive, and allows recordings to be viewed, searched, and managed later.

Without a recorder, a camera can still be viewed in real time, but no historical video footage will be stored.

How do recorders differ?

Number of channels
The number of channels indicates how many cameras can be connected to the recorder.
The most common options are:

  • 4 channels
  • 8 channels
  • 16 channels
  • 32 channels
  • up to 64 channels

The rule is simple – if NVR has 8 channels, then you can connect up to 8 cameras to it.

POE support
NVR with PoE is able to:

  • record camera video signal
  • give a power to the camera using the same network cable.

This makes camera installation much easier, because there is no need to worry about separate power cables or power supplies.

Number of HDD slots
Recorders also differ in how many hard drives can be installed in the device:

  • 1 HDD slot
  • 2 HDD slots
  • 4 HDD slots
  • 8 HDD slots

More slots mean greater potential storage capacity and better flexibility for larger systems.

Important to know: hard drives are not included.

Recorders are supplied without hard drives. Hard drives must be selected and purchased separately. It is recommended to use hard drives designed specifically for video surveillance, as they are built for 24/7 operation.

How much storage space is needed?

The required storage capacity depends on:

  • number of cameras,
  • camera resolution and bitrate,
  • type of recording (motion only or 24/7),
  • how many days the recordings need to be retained before they are overwritten.

Simplified logics is as follows:

  1. Check, how big is one camera video bitrate.
  2. Multiply this number with total camera’s quantity.
  3. Calculate, how many days you want to retain the recordings.
  4. Add some buffer, just in case.

Example

  • 6 cameras
  • each camera bitrate is ~4 Mbps
  • recording 24/7
  • recordings are retained for 14 days

In this case, approximately 3.7 TB of data will be generated.
With a safety margin included, it is reasonable to choose a 4–6 TB hard drive, or multiple drives if needed.

If motion-based recording is used, the required capacity is smaller, as recording takes place only during events. In calmer environments, actual usage may be only 30–50% of continuous recording.

How to make a right choice?

If the number of cameras, retention period, or suitable drive capacity remains unclear, our sales specialists can help you choose:

  • suitable NVR,
  • correct number of channels,
  • PoE requirement,
  • suitable HDD or HDD’s.

This way, the system becomes complete and truly matches the needs of the site—not just the figures on paper.

viSar recorder series

viSar recorders are divided into series based on system size and functionality. The right recorder choice depends mainly on the number of cameras, their resolution, and how long recordings need to be retained.

6xx series – a simple and reliable basic solution

Key Features:

  • Up to 16 camera channels,
  • Available POE and without POE models,
  • max. supported camera’s resolution 6 MP,
  • 1 HDD slot,
  • Suitable for basic video surveillance functions.

The 6xx series is well suited for sites where:

  • the number of cameras is small to medium,
  • very high-resolution cameras are not used,
  • the retention period is not very long,
  • the goal is a simple and stable solution.

It is a good choice for homes, small business premises, and sites where advanced analytics are not required.

9xx series – higher performance and smarter analytics

viSar 9xx series recorders are designed for more demanding systems where higher-resolution cameras are used and more analytics and recording flexibility are needed.

Key Features:

  • Up to 16 camera channels,
  • Available POE and without POE models,
  • Maximum supported resolution of cameras is 8 MP,
  • Up to 2 HDD slots,
  • objects classification / analytics (e.g. human / vehicle).

9xx series is well suited for:

  • commercial sites,
  • apartment buildings,
  • parking lots,
  • for sites where greater storage capacity and more accurate event differentiation are required.

Thanks to two hard drive bays, it is possible to use a larger storage capacity or distribute the load across multiple drives, which is important for longer retention periods.

8xx series – for large and complex surveillance systems

viSar 8xx series recorders are designed for extensive and demanding surveillance systems where the number of cameras is high, high-resolution cameras are used, and recordings need to be stored for longer periods. This is the most powerful class in the viSar recorder lineup.

Key Features:

  • up to 64 camera channels,
  • maximum supported resolution of cameras is 12 MP,
  • up to 8 HDD slots,
  • suitable for large storage capacities and long-term archiving.

8xx series is well suited for:

  • larger commercial and industrial sites,
  • warehouses and logistics centres,
  • shopping malls,
  • wide open spaces and perimeters,
  • projects, where a lot of AI-Pro or special series cameras are being used.

Thanks to the high number of channels and multiple hard drive bays, it is possible to build a system that grows together with the site and does not impose limitations on either the number of cameras or the recording retention period.

How to choose right viSar NVR with cameras?

Choosing the right recorder always starts with the cameras. The recorder must be able to receive, store, and process the cameras’ video streams without limitations.

1.Number of cameras
Choose NVR according to the quantity of cameras.
The rule is simple:

  • 8 cameras → at least 8 channel NVR
  • 16 cameras → 16 channels
It is recommended to leave a small reserve in case the system needs to be expanded later.

2. Resolution of the cameras
Check, if your NVR supports max. resolution of the camera.:

  • up to 6 MP → 6xx series
  • up tp 8 MP → 9xx series
  • up to 12 MP → 8xx series

If the recorder does not support the camera’s resolution, the camera’s full image quality cannot be used.

3. PoE requirement
If you want a simpler installation, choose a recorder with PoE support.
This allows you to:

  • transmit video,
  • power the camera, using a single network cable.
For larger systems, a separate PoE switch can also be used together with a non-PoE recorder.

4. Storage capacity and hard drives
Consider the following:

  • how many days the recordings need to be retained,
  • whether recording is continuous or motion-based.

For smaller systems, it is often sufficient to use:

  • 6xx series + 1 HDD

For medium scale systems:

  • 9xx series + 2 HDD

Bigger sites:

  • 8xx series+ multiple HDD-d

Hard drives are always selected separately and should be designed specifically for video surveillance.

5. Analytics and AI functions
If you use:

  • people and vehicle differentiation,
  • object classification,
  • AI Pro cameras,

then it is worth choosing a recorder that can process and manage this data as well.
For simple video recording, a basic model is sufficient.

6. Room for expansion
If there is a plan to expand the system in the future, it is sensible to choose:

  • more channels,
  • more HDD slots,
  • more powerfull series.

This will save time and money in future.

If choosing a recorder raises questions or the system uses cameras from different series, our sales specialists can help find a compatible and reliable solution.

Product code explanation – how to read the code

viSar camera product codes may seem complex at first glance, but in reality they are logical and briefly convey the camera’s key characteristics. Once you know what the letters and numbers stand for, finding the right model becomes much easier.

Main letters:

IPT
means that it is an IP-camera.

Resolution (4 / 6 / 8 MP)
Numbers show camera resolution:

  • 4 MP
  • 6 MP
  • 8 MP

Greater number means more sharper image.

Body type

  • BL – Bullet type camera
  • VD – turret type camera
  • GD – dome type camera

Body type helps to understand where and how the camera is intended to be installed.

Series and functions

  • S4 – Lite-seeria
  • s4c – Pro-seeria
  • AL – Audio & Light Alarm
  • DL – Dual Light
  • E4 – AI- PRO series
  • MZ – motorized zoom
  • F – lens type ( F28 is 2,8mm lens)
  • I – IR light

These designations indicate which series the camera belongs to and what additional features it includes.

Color

  • D at the end of the code meaning black color housing.
If there is no D – this means that camera is white.

Example

IPT8VDs4cMZD

This code means:

  • IPT – IP-camera
  • 8 – 8 MP resolution
  • VD – turret body type camera
  • S4C – Pro-series
  • MZ – mootor zoom lens
  • D – black color

In other words: an 8 MP Pro series dome camera with a zoom lens, in black. This coding logic makes it easy to quickly compare models and find the right camera in our online store. If any designation remains unclear, our sales specialists are happy to explain the code and help you choose the right solution.
